Specific Course Goals
Students will create a variety of online web documents, building from simple web pages to complex presentations and interactive hypermedia which include basic levels of interface design. They will gain competence with current computer technology relating to online publishing including: HTML scripting, text manipulation, design principles and practices, orientation and navigation skills, manipulation of images, animation, and user testing. Students will share their learning experiences with others and demonstrate and present their design strategies and knowledge through professional written and oral communication.

Professional Writing Goals
PW1. Students will know the various genres and publication conventions of professional writing.
PW2. Students will understand audience’s expectations in light of the ethical, legal and cultural implications of rhetorical choices.
PW3. Students will have the ability to write, edit, design, and publish effective professional publications using contemporary computer technologies.

  • Web Portfolio

    A culminating project, the Web Portfolio, will allow students to reflect on all aspects of learning encountered and practiced in this course and then present this information to others.
