Dan,
Jim Dahl and I would like to invite you to be our "Quantitative Reasoning Consultant" focusing on the quantitative reasoning requirement and assessment in the MPSL. I understand the Math department is currently investigating ways to make the QR requirement both more measurable and more efficient for the campus. Jim and I would be able to provide you with some very modest resources as you work with the campus community on this issue.
Finally, I would anticipate that plans would be created and/or implemented cooperatively with administrative and academic units across the campus. Althoug the details of who should be involved can be worked out, I would expect that representatives from MPSL (Dahl), Assessment (Folger), Math Department (Chair-Likins), Education Department (Chair-Hoffman), Fine Arts (Fiol-Dean), SLAD (Beth Abrahamson), Registrar (Wessel), Information Technology (Kapp or Birch), Council on Curriculum (Chair-J. Watson) and Academic Technology (Penny Harman) would be consulted on some level at some point. I'm sure there are others as well (For example Kapp and Wessel have to know how to store requriments in our Banner system; Harman is our Compass tech guru; Abrahamson runs tutoring and so on).
Jim and I look forward to coordinating this important work with you.
