Think Globally. Act Molecularly.

My research interests fall under the broad heading of "benign by design" or "green chemistry." That is, I seek to develop experimental methods that decrease environmental and occupational hazards in an economically responsible manner. Undergraduate students who work with me can choose from projects involving synthetic organic methodology, investigations of the mechanisms of certain nucleophilic carbonyl addition reactions, or novel syntheses of polymers and biologically-interesting molecules.
