TUTORIALS, MULTIMEDIA & WEB CREATIONS

It's Your Story: Postcard Exhibit / Millikin University
Based off of the popular Post Secret books, this project was a collaboration between an undergraduate research fellow and an English professor. Several student groups and Staley Library sponsored the exhibit. I created this promotional video with Apple’s iMovie, using images of the students’ work. I worked with the English professor to write the script and provide narration.

IN150 Millikin Information Literacy Tutorial / Millikin University
This tutorial is based off of the Texas Information Literacy Tutorial and the Campus Library User Education (CLUE) tutorial from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I collaborated with the Director of Critical Writing, Reading and Research, the Writing Center director, and an English professor to write the script and provide narration. Students are then directed to the Moodle course management system to complete a quiz. This was produced using Camtasia.

Search by Author (I-Share) / Consortium of Academic & Research Libraries in Illinois Over 70 Illinois academic libraries share a system-wide universal catalog (I-Share). With my work on the I-Share Instruction Team, I developed “how to” instructional tutorials on common catalog searches. I wrote the script and provided narration for the “Search by Author” video. This was produced using Camtasia.

Virtual Instruction Series / Sam Houston State University These videos were created using the Tegrity e-learning system and were intended as an added resource for online and distance learning students. Originally titled “Virtual Instruction Series,” these are now listed under “Instructional Modules.” The original presentations I assisted in creating were accepted as part of the peer-reviewed PRIMO Project from ACRL.

Nailing the Library InterviewI created this wiki as a resource for new librarians, or those job hunting for library positions. It covers commonly asked interview questions, suggests questions that prospective librarians should ask potential employers, and provides links to job postings, career advice, and resume/cover letter writing. The software used is from PBworks.
