History of course

Overview: The Cultural Events Seminar is a one-credit pass/fail course aimed at giving students the opportunity to experience, appreciate and enjoy a variety of musical, theatrical, artistic, academic and other cultural events, activities, presentations and performances at Millikin University. There are no prerequisites for the course, and it may be taken up to three times.
Students in the class are required to attend nine Millikin and one Decatur cultural events throughout the semester, including Kirkland offerings, faculty and student productions and recitals, and art exhibits. The students will also be required to attend some scheduled pre-event faculty/expert talks (often by the artist/performers themselves), and to write one-page reviews/evaluations of each of the ten events.

At the conclusion of the requirements, a short reflection paper will be due.
