E301/Web Publishing: Hypertextual Theory and Design, Michael O'Conner |
Join the EN301 Moodle Course for this class. Become an active member of our email discussion group throughout the semester. To earn your full points for this assignment make sure to send at least one pithy, engaging discussion item to the discussion area per week by the deadline, mostly based upon a discussion question posted by the professor. Ten good official email postings are required during the semester and everything beyond that is to your benefit, of course.
Remember, weekly email should be well developed, creative, academic, and useful to other class members.
Other postings of interest:
If you discover interesting web pages, let the rest of us know the URLs. If you start scripting html files in a cool or unusual way, let the rest of us know how you did it. Occasionally, keep the rest of us posted on what academic listserv or listproc you joined and how that is going. If you run into problems, share them. If you run into solutions to common problems--especially share those, and ask if anyone in class has possible solutions. As you start exploring how to use HTML editors like Netscape Composer or Adobe PageMill or whatever, let us know how you like them. You can comment on Chapter material. Point out interesting javascripts you found or source code that you really like.
Superficial messages will earn few points
Make sure to follow all aspects of internet and email netiquette in your email discussions. Warning: Spamming, evangelizing, or forwarding chain mail or unwanted and unnecessary messages to the discussion group will automatically earn you a minus 30 points for this assignment.
