AS3: Evaluating Web Pages

There are two ways I wish to discuss web page evaluation. First, in evaluating existing web pages as reliable sources of information and secondly, evaluating pages for design and structure.

Information Sources--Authority and Accuracy

Do a quick scan through some of the links and information on Evaluating Internet Sources.

Design Evaluation

Go to Graphics Basics and Design Concerns and study these pages.

Prepare two checklists from your reading:

  • one for identifying authority and accuracy in a web page
  • one for determining good web design qualities in a web page

Finally, locate three web pages on the internet.

  • a business or company page
  • a scholarly or educational page
  • a page put together by an individual who is not a professional, a student perhaps

Evaluate all three using your two checklists. This assignment will be turned in as a hard copy. Turn in

  • clean copies of your two checklists.
  • printed copies of your three web pages.
  • your evaluations of those three pages using your checklists.
