AS5:Hypertextual Writing

Write One of the following:
1.A Hypertextual Essay on Computers and the Internet (or a Topic of your Choice)
2.A Hypertextual Poem
3.A Hypertextual Short Story

Essay: Research a topic having to do with Computers and the Internet, or a topic of your choice. After obtaining instructor approval, develop a significant web presentation based upon that subject.

Some possible topics:

And, of course, there are hundreds of other possible topics. Get instructor approval on your topic once you have decided upon it. Send me an email and I will approve or reject the topic.

Since this is an English course, I also offer the opportunity to work on a Hypertext Essay based on a literary work. There are many examples on the internet. One is at the Faulkner web site, as a Commentary on The Sound and the Fury. Another more extensive project is Jewett's Hypertextual The Country of the Pointed Firs.

Poem: Write a Creative Poem that Uses Hypertext in new and imaginative ways. This will need to be a well developed and innovative work to earn you full points.
Examples: "The House of the Mind," or "Framework,""Belly," "Dreamspew," Surrealist Poem Generator, "Paradise Flossed"

Short Story: Write a hypertextual short story. This will need to be a well developed and innovative work to earn you full points.
Examples: The Luminous Dome, Fields of Night, Hegirascope, Reality Dreams, Scroll One, Murder Mysteries, Becomings,CityThreads, The Company Therapist
