AS9: Hypertextual Service Project/Collaboration

You will do two collaboration hypertextual service projects for Millikin University or the local community. One will be a "team" choice, the other will be a new Phi Kappa Phi web site for Millikin. Each team will be in competition with each other on the PKP site.

Service project teams:

Team One
Sara Askins
Jen Ernst
Jeff Hall

Team Two
Sam Sinkhorn
Jessie Miles
Ryan McShea

Team Three
Erik Louis
Amber McKinney
Jessica Wood
John Wright

Each TEAM will have members with specific functions. A team member may have multiple roles.

1. a client contact person/researcher, responsible for setting up client appointments, communication with client, interviews, surveying requests for site, follow-up by showing client alternative possibilities, quality control on final project. This is also a researcher, locating similar sites on the web and working with the designers in setting up their possible designs.

2. one or two designers responsible for actually designing the site based upon the contact person's results and feedback.  Each designer will go a different direction and provide alternative designs from each other.  Each designer will check on quality control on the other designer's project.  The client may choose between the two or three designs submitted or ask for a hybrid of the best elements from designs.  If a hybrid is requested designers will work together to complete the final project.

3. a coordinator/leader, responsible for coordinating the team, keeping the team on a timeline and on task, coordinating email communcations between group members, ensure proper file swapping and file sharing between team members, acting as the contact person to the course instructor, and quality control on the final project. All the group work forms will be submitted through the coordinator to the instructor.

All team members will be responsible for quality control on the final site submitted for the project. Each project will be submitted, upon completion on the due date, to the instructor on a portable USB drive. Grades will be determined based upon both group and individual effort.
