First, become familiar with the "Checklist for Instructor-Prepared Bulletin Boards" and the "How To Steps" of designing a good educational bulletin board.
Next, design an instructional/educational bulletin board on a subject related to your teaching area or interests. This must be a bulletin board that "teaches" something, not one that emphasizes decoration or a season.
Finally, to get the best use out of this assignment, seriously consider contacting a cooperating elementary teacher, one you have had, one you have now, or one you have already contacted for another assignment. Ask if you may construct and assemble the bulletin board for the teacher's school or classroom sometime during the month. A bonus of 15 points will be awarded if elementary school children actually benefit from your bulletin board this semester.
A Media Lesson Plan write-up on your bulletin board along with the photos of it are due on the due date. You may turn the assignment in early. On your media plan you must indicate if you are requesting the extra credit. Your photos should clearly demonstrate that you should earn the extra credit (i.e. they should clearly show the bulletin board in the elementary school setting).
