Summer Music Tech

This summer Millikin University will be offering two summer workshops intended to help teachers apply the latest technology in their music classrooms. The workshops are designed, not just to teach how to use technology, but how it can be used to expand student creativity and improve their musicianship.

The classes will be taught using a hands-on, experiential approach in a state of the art technology lab. Each student will have the use of a high-powered computer workstation using recent versions of popular music software. All topics can be applied to the Mac or Windows platforms.

Credit: 2 college credits (6 CEUS) for each course
(and credits can be applied to TI:ME 1A or 2C   certification).

Cost: $530 each course

Location: Millikin University in Decatur, IL

Housing: Available for additional cost

Who should attend the workshops?

  • Music teachers, who teach at any level and in any area of music education, who would like to integrate music technology into their teaching.
  • Music teachers who have been given technology to use in their classroom and are unsure of how to use it.
  • Music teachers whose knowledge and comfort with music technology has lapsed over the years.
