I am a senior English major with an emphasis in creative writing. Although I have been in several classes where poetry was critiqued, I have very little experience in the actual editing process. The best experience I bring is my 5 years in the banking industry. Working in an operations department, I know alot about the basic day to day operations of a business. Although publishing and banking are two very different businesses, they are businesses nonetheless and share many commonalities as far as how a basic small business runs. Therefore, I would say I have decent business sense. I have good working computer knowledge, but am not well versed in the Adobe programs like photoshop, illustrator, and InDesign. I know how to use them, but not very well. Obviously, my talent is writing, mainly poetry. I’m pretty good at sentence construction, but my grammatical skills are most likely considered average.
