my mind still on Freedom

I woke up this morning and my mind was still on Freedom, I woke up this morning and my mind, was still on Freedom, I woke up this morning and my it was still on Freedom, Hallelu   -Hallelu - Hallelujah

I may not become the president of the United States or even a famous writer, but if I can look back on my life and know that I helped others to understand a whole race of people better, I will have done my job.

My voice may not be very loud, but if others can hear the sincerity and eagerness when I make a plea for this country's need for a positive change, regardless of it's low volume, then I will be satisfied.

I probably won't stop all of the yellow journalist that print and broadcast false accusations, but if others can know the truth about my people, I will continue to write despite the biases, racists, and stereotypes, or the negative portrayals seen on TV from the mammies to the gangsters, and the bad media attention and racial profiling...

I may not see the day my children's children's children receive the fruits of the reparations I believe are to come, but as long as I can get a little more freedom for my people while I'm here on this earth and I'll know just how far we've truly come since slavery, then my mission will be complete.

... and before I'll be a slave I'll be buried in my grave and go home to my Lord and be free...
